Acceptable Use Policy for CardMaker

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of CardMaker's AI generation features, including image generation, accessible at cardmaker.org.

Overview

CardMaker provides AI-powered creative tools that allow users to generate images from text prompts and other inputs. While we encourage creative expression, we are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and lawful platform. This Acceptable Use Policy sets clear boundaries on what content may and may not be generated using our services.

This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using CardMaker, you agree to comply with this policy.

Content Moderation

All user-supplied prompts submitted to CardMaker's AI generation features are automatically screened through our content moderation system before any generation takes place. This pre-generation screening ensures that prohibited content is blocked before it can be created.

  • Prompts that violate this policy are automatically rejected before any AI model processes them.
  • Our moderation system operates on a fail-closed basis — if moderation is temporarily unavailable, generation requests will be blocked until moderation is restored.
  • We do not rely solely on post-generation review. Prevention is our first line of defense.

Permitted Uses

You MAY use CardMaker to:

  • Generate original artwork, illustrations, and creative images for personal or commercial use
  • Edit and enhance images using AI-powered tools
  • Create content for social media, marketing, presentations, and other lawful purposes

Prohibited Content

You may NOT use CardMaker to generate, attempt to generate, upload, store, or distribute any of the following types of content:

Sexually Explicit & NSFW Content

CardMaker maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for NSFW content. The following is absolutely prohibited:

  • Nudity or partial nudity
  • Sexual acts or simulated sexual acts
  • Sexually suggestive poses or imagery
  • Pornographic content of any kind
  • Fetish or kink content
  • Content that sexualizes any individual, real or fictional
  • Any content that would be classified as "Not Safe For Work" (NSFW)
  • Obscene content as defined under applicable laws

There are no exceptions, paid tiers, or opt-in features that permit NSFW content on CardMaker.

Child Safety

  • Any content depicting, suggesting, or referencing minors (individuals under 18) in any sexual, suggestive, exploitative, or inappropriate context
  • Content that sexualizes minors in any way, including fictional or animated depictions
  • Violations will result in immediate and permanent account termination and will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or relevant law enforcement authorities

Violence & Harmful Content

  • Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence against any individual or group
  • Graphic depictions of violence, gore, or torture
  • Content promoting terrorism or terrorist organizations
  • Content encouraging self-harm or suicide
  • Content promoting or facilitating illegal drug use or manufacturing

Hate Speech & Discrimination

  • Content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic
  • Slurs, dehumanizing language, or content designed to demean specific groups
  • Content that promotes supremacist ideologies

Deception & Impersonation

  • Deepfakes or manipulated media intended to deceive
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
  • Content impersonating real individuals without their explicit consent
  • Misinformation or disinformation designed to cause harm
  • Fraudulent content designed to scam or deceive others

Harassment & Bullying

  • Content created to harass, threaten, intimidate, or bully any individual
  • Doxxing or sharing private information without consent
  • Content designed to shame or humiliate specific individuals

Illegal Activities

  • Content that promotes, facilitates, or depicts illegal activities
  • Intellectual property infringement (using copyrighted characters, logos, or trademarked content without authorization)
  • Content that violates export control laws or sanctions

Enforcement

Automated Enforcement

Our content moderation system automatically screens all prompts before generation. Prompts that violate this policy are blocked immediately.

Manual Review

CardMaker reserves the right to review generated content and user accounts at any time to ensure compliance with this policy.

Enforcement Actions

Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions:

  1. Prompt Rejection — The specific prompt is blocked and no content is generated.
  2. Account Warning — The user is notified of the violation.
  3. Temporary Suspension — The account is temporarily suspended pending review.
  4. Permanent Termination — The account is permanently terminated without refund.
  5. Law Enforcement Referral — Illegal content is reported to appropriate authorities.

The severity of enforcement depends on the nature and frequency of violations. Attempts to generate CSAM or repeated attempts to circumvent moderation will result in immediate permanent termination.

Changes to This Policy

CardMaker reserves the right to update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through our website. Continued use of CardMaker after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
